tmux is OpenBSD's variant of GNU Screen. The latter is a program that has served me and many other well for decades. It is typically used when connecting to servers and want to start several programs simultaneously (from the command line), or that you want to unplug and let the programs go.
I will not say whether one or the other is better, but tmux get the advantage 220v timer of coming last. Over the years I have experienced quite a few situations where Screen not have behaved as expected, then it is okay to try something new.
Ctrl + bc - start new shell Ctrl + bn - switch to next shell Ctrl + bp - change to previous shell Ctrl + b 2 - switch to shell No. 2 Ctrl + bd - detach, disconnect (do it before you close your connection) Ctrl + b & - closing window tmux attach - when to reconnect
Which key does what you control completely even, eventually. The documentation is a bit harsh, it is easiest to start with OpenBSD FAQ, skim through one side and then take a look at the examples to configure itself.
ps. If you're just going to start a program that will run in the background, use nohup echo test &, replace the "echo test" with the program to be run. You must then use the kill or the equivalent 220v timer if you want to kill it.

Screen tvinga me to reduce this the size of the command (which was cut and pasted from kate) to less than 16000 characters. It is possible tmux only works I get more experience, or if I demarcates commands to <16000 characters. I have not Vore motivated to stage this out yet.
